FAQs

What does the entry fee cover?

Your entry fee includes 4 rounds of golf at Sand Valley, 3 nights of lodging, dinners throughout the tournament, and a $500 donation to the Evans Scholars Foundation. Depending on lodging, the total cost is expected to be between $3,700 and $5,000 per player.

How and when is everything locked in for the tournament?

The Ancestors journey kicks off with invitations by Halloween. The roster is locked in by December, lodging is handled in February, and tee times are released about a month before the event—giving you time to plan and get excited.

What is the estimated travel schedule?

The Ancestors Tournament will be played over four rounds, beginning the afternoon of July 20, 2026, and concluding late on July 22, 2026. For those who wish to extend their stay, we’ve also secured additional rounds on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

What team will I be on?

Ancestors is a battle between Team Vision and Team Legacy. You’ll be placed on one of the two teams, and once assigned, that’s your team for life. Currently, Team Vision holds the trophy.

What makes a good guest for Ancestors?

Ancestors are business leaders from across the country, and your guest is a reflection of you. A good guest has a GHIN index, a spirit of generosity, values investing in young people, and strengthens a community united by a love for the game of golf. Most importantly, a good guest brings something valuable to the group—someone who makes us stronger, better, and more connected through their presence.

What if I’m on the waitlist?

After a successful first year, we simply have more interest than spots and not every player will be able to participate each year. Our goal is to continue building a group where every person brings something meaningful to the table, someone who makes the community stronger and better. We will do our best to foster the right mix of people to keep Ancestors special.

What is the Ancestors format?

The Ancestors Tournament will feature four rounds of play. Round 1 will be Four-Ball with original partners. Round 2 will shift to a Two-Man Shamble with random pairings. Round 3 will be Select Drive, Alternate Shot, returning to original partners. Round 4 will conclude with another round of Four-Ball, again with original partners.

Where do the proceeds go?

Proceeds from the Ancestors Tournament support the Evans Scholars Foundation, which awards full tuition and housing scholarships to hardworking, high-character caddies from across the U.S. who have limited financial means.

Are there sponsorship opportunities?

Yes. Total Family and The 1916 Company are the founding sponsors of Ancestors. To explore sponsorship, contact Dan Kallaugher at dan@the1916company.com. We remain selective, partnering only with brands that fit the long-term vision of the tournament

Please RSVP and reserve the dates at your earliest convenience. Once your response is received, your spot will be confirmed and full event details will follow.
